This six week course will introduce you to the basics of Hatha yoga. It is suitable for any age and no previous experience is necessary.
We will focus on the basics of a traditional Hatha yoga class, including asana (postures) pranayama (breathing exercises) and proper relaxation.
You will learn how to properly warm up your body and spine, including the Surya Namaskar sequence (sun salutations).
You will be introduced to at least 10 asanas (postures) focusing on alignment and what their counter poses are. These asanas will include, forward bends, backbends, twists, concentration poses and inversions.
You will learn at least 2 Pranayama (breathing exercises), and you will be taken through a guided relaxation at the end of each class.
The 6 week course is £60 and should be paid in advance.
Once completed students should feel confident enough and have the ability to attend Beautiful Life Yoga open classes.
